Crane-handling (LoLo)
The taking into operation of the new mobile port crane GHMK 7608 has added new business sectors to the pallet already offered by the Port of Kiel in the Ostuferhafen. Along with grab cargo, containers, project loads and heavy lift cargo of all kinds can now be handled.
The crane is driven by a Diesel engine of well over 1,200 hp and has a fuel tank capacity of 8,500 litres. About 40 litres of fuel are needed for one hour of operation. Where required, the crane can be driven and operated by remote control. With a speed of about 5 kms/hour, the crane is capable of being moved anywhere in the entire Ostuferhafen. The hydraulically operated travelling gear rests on eight axles with a total of 32 tyres.
